If you have any questions that our FAQs don’t answer, please contact us.
The Watershed is fully accessible but please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you participate fully.
Our specially-negotiated hotels are no longer available. However, you can check out Visit Bristol – https://visitbristol.co.uk/accommodation. Alternatively, try AirBnb. Southville is a handy (and nice) suburb to stay in as you can walk (20-30 minutes) to the conference venue over the bridge, past funky Wapping Wharf, and along the historic harbourside. It’s a lovely walk.
The conference is taking place at the Watershed, a central Bristol arts and media centre.
The Watershed, 1 Canons Road, Harbourside, Bristol, BS1 5TX. 0117 927 510.
A number of buses serve the centre of Bristol. Use this handy journey planner: https://journeyplanner.travelwest.info/directions
Refreshments and lunch will be served throughout the day. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know when you buy your ticket.
A self-service (unattended) cloakroom will be available. The organisers accept no liability for any loss arising from use of the cloakroom facilities.
All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with our Code of Conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event and at conference-related social events. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.
Enjoy the Delegate Pack we’ve created especially for you. It’s packed with useful information such as the programme, venue map and practical information. Plus we’ve collated fascinating interview snippets from our keynotes, panellists, and delegates who have shared their thoughts with us over the past few months.
Download the Delegate Pack and bring your electronic copy with you on the day. (The programme will be on your badge, and venue maps will be in each room.)
For the über-prepared, download the Sli.do app on your smartphone (see “Audience questions, rated!” on page 6 of your Delegate Pack).
We’re committed to including a diverse range of voices and perspectives at our conference, which means featuring people of colour in our line-up. We’ve been thwarted in our aspiration to have a person of colour keynote but very much hope to remedy it for our 2020 conference. We have a woman of colour as our panel chair and are hoping to have six people from underrepresented groups giving PechaKucha talks.
Any person discovering an outbreak of fire, however slight, should immediately notify a member of the organiser team or a member of Watershed staff.
If the fire alarm is activated a loud siren will sound. Please take note of the green fire exit signs. The Watershed staff will guide guests out of the building to the assembly point. The assembly point is the water steps (to your left as you exit the building from the main entrance). Watershed staff will inform guests when it is safe to re-enter the building.
There is a first aider on site at all times. They can be contacted through a member of the organiser team. Individuals seeking assistance for minor injuries should contact a member of Watershed staff. In the event of a major incident the venue manager should be contacted who will contact the emergency services.
The closest train station to the conference venue is Bristol Temple Meads which is a 15-20 minute walk.
