Co-designing for data responsibility

This talk is about exploring possibilities to co-create responsible and innovative data practices in customer interaction. I base this talk on the insights gained in a research project with seven organisations that co- ideated data practices for corporate data responsibility. I try to envision collaborative practises in search of human-centric data responsibility as a response to the organisation-centric development in data economy.

This study grounds on the framework of corporate digital responsibility by focusing on data related processes and practices with co-design methods. My approach to data responsibility addresses the need to design reciprocal relationships between organisations and people. The premier method is facilitated dialogue by engaging participants in a design game for the idea formation of data practices. With field experiments and conceptual frames, I hope to take part in the discussion of designing for responsible use of data, transparency, trust and accountability embedded in relations within the socio-technical systems.

My talk touches upon human-centricity in data, systemic design, collaborative-driven interaction and service design with data, personal data management and data ethics.
