These terms and conditions apply to purchasing tickets to attend a Response-ability Summit. By purchasing a ticket you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions.

If you do not agree to accept the terms and conditions set out below, you should not purchase a ticket.

We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Any amended terms and conditions will be posted on this website.

Event booking and cancellation

Where a Student ticket is purchased, students must be full-time and must register with their student email address. We reserve the right to confirm eligibility (e.g. a valid student ID card). If you are not eligible, your Student ticket will be refunded minus a £10 administration charge.

Where a Third Sector ticket is purchased, we reserve the right to confirm eligibility. Third sector organisations are those that are neither public sector nor private sector. It includes voluntary and community organisations (both registered charities and other organisations such as associations, self-help groups and community groups), social enterprises, mutuals, and co-operatives. If you are not eligible, your Third Sector ticket will be refunded minus a £10 administration charge.

Registration for Workshops. The workshops are free to all Summit ticket-holders on a first-come, first-served basis. Because places are limited, please let us or your workshop leader know if you cannot subsequently attend so we can offer your place to someone else. You can book one (1) workshop only. Additional registrations will be removed without notice to you. You must enter your ticket number to register for a workshop.

Cancellation of event: In the unlikely event that Response-ability have to cancel the event, we will refund any pre-paid ticket costs. Response-ability shall not be liable for reimbursing the cost of travel or accommodation arrangements made by individual delegates.

Cancellation of attendance: We regret tickets will not be refunded.

Please note that while speakers and sessions (including but not limited to workshops) are confirmed at the time of publishing, circumstances beyond the control of the organisers may necessitate substitutions, alterations, or cancellations of the speakers and sessions. As such, we reserve the right to alter or modify the advertised speakers and sessions if necessary without any liability to you whatsoever. Any substitutions or alterations will be updated on our web page as soon as possible.

Conditions of attendance

You must comply with instructions and directions given by staff, stewards, and agents of the conference venue and Response-ability and any applicable policies and procedures of which you are notified, and abide by our Code of Conduct.

We reserve the right to refuse access to, or remove any delegate from, the event who, in our reasonable opinion has, or is likely to affect the enjoyment of the other delegates, in our reasonable opinion is acting under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or who uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or who behaves in a manner which may cause a breach of the peace.

Recording disclaimer

During the event we may do one or all of the following:

  • Take general photographs.
  • Record all audio output from the event.
  • Video-record the event proceedings and sessions.
  • Live-stream selected event proceedings.

Some Response-ability Summit sessions will be recorded and delegates may be captured in these recordings. The sessions that are being recorded will be marked accordingly.

Any subsequent photographs or recordings may be used in future Response-ability publicity materials only. All video and audio recordings and photographs will remain the property of Response-ability. By purchasing a ticket, you are agreeing to the photographing and/or recording and/or filming of the proceedings, as described above, being made for future dissemination by Response-ability and third parties with whom it works in partnership.

Limitation of liability

Personal arrangements including travel, accommodation, or hospitality relating to any Response-ability event which have been arranged by you are at your own risk.

Neither Response-abilty nor the venue will be responsible for any loss, theft or damage to your personal belongings, other than caused as a result of our negligence or that of the venue or other breach of statutory duty by us or the venue. Any such liability that arises shall be limited to a sum equal to the cost of the ticket purchase paid.

You will be responsible for paying for any damage which you cause to property at the venue including the cost of additional cleaning where charged by the venue.

Nothing in these terms and conditions will operate to limit or exclude liability of each party for death or personal injury arising out of its negligence, or for its fraud nor any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Subject to the paragraph above, in no circumstances will either party be liable to the other party for any loss of business, revenue, profits, anticipated savings or goodwill (whether direct or indirect) or for any indirect, special or consequential loss, arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions and the event.

Health and safety

You must comply with all relevant legislation relating to health and safety and with any safety announcements and Venue regulations of which you are made aware whilst attending any Response-ability event.

Force majeure

For the purposes of these terms and conditions, “force majeure” means any cause beyond our reasonable control including, but not limited to, war, acts of terrorism, governmental requirements, acts of local or central government or other competent authorities, acts of God and industrial disputes.

We will not be liable to you for failure to perform any obligation under these terms and conditions or in relation to your booking to the extent that the failure is caused by force majeure.
