Get Creative with Machine Learning

This Flower Does Not Exist. A piece from the GAN-generated flower collection by Kerry Harrison
Machine learning isn’t just making an impact in research and industry, it’s disrupting the creative industries too. Creatives are already using machine learning to make art, craft music, write poetry and inspire new ways of thinking. The great news is, you don’t have to be a computer scientist to start exploring the possibilities.
In this hands-on, exploratory workshop, Kerry will share some of her favourite machine learning creative projects and show you how you can make your own pieces using RunwayML and other available tools.
You don’t have to be a coder or artist to join in. All you need is an open mind and a desire to play!
You will leave the session with:
- A deeper understanding of machine learning and how it can be used to make art, create music and extend creative thinking
- A piece of art created using neural style transfer techniques and your own handmade pattern
- An AI-generated art video you’ve created using a machine learning model on Runway ML
- An understanding of creative platforms
- Tools, tips and resources to help you make your own creative work with machine learning.
